Fort Langley fall pre wedding engagement portraits
Why engagement sessions are fun to photograph.
Hello Fall. An unusual start for a blog post yet I love the fall season so much. You can have so many creative elements included in the images just by using the nature around you. When Skyler and Jessa met us at a wedding show couple months back who would say I am going to photograph their wedding day next year. Guys were not actually at the show as a wedding couple looking for vendors, but they were a vendor. Their white Phoenix tent was just across our booth. Yes they are tent guys as I call them and their Phoenix Tent rental company is an amazing bonus for the couples with outdoor weddings in mind.
The idea of having their Fort Langley fall pre wedding engagement portraits done at Fort Langley was really great. We hit a perfect sunny day, with all the colours around us. There was something with red moon going on that night. So many guys at the river banks and bridges set up with tripods staring at the sky :).
We took our session from completely different perspective. Nature based cool portraits of Jessa and Skyler having good time together. As simple as it can get. Simplicity is the key to great pictures not just at the wedding days. I am a two camera shooter so one portrait lens, one meidum wide angle and no flash. The light was our key object to follow so I just gave directions to the guys and let them be themselves. A bit of tips for posing and again let them be who they are. Here is the result of an hour walk around with me.
Dusk images at the river. The sun was gone and this soft light was amazing for portraits. To spice it up we went for a bit of action this time. After couple close up and silhouette pictures I added my prism tricks to it.
Then talk about ideas. Just suggested if Jessa could connect with Skyler more physically like a jump or something :). Look at the piggy back awesomeness they pulled together. Freaking cool guys.
Thank you Jessa and Skyler. I had so much fun with you and can not wait to photograph your next year wedding.
