Granville Island Van Dusen Gardens Engagement

Do you know the saying – If you really want something go after it and you will get it? Fahim and Aaliya had never met me before but contacted me literally a day after they saw blog with images from engagement session of Aaliya’s cousin. We talked, planned and managed to accomplish this engagement shoot literally in couple weeks as they are out of town guys from Ontario. They were generous enough not to go after the same location like their family friends before so I gave them couple suggestions and they chosen Van Dusen Gardens and asked for extra location for the same day sunset – dusk session at Granville Island. Can you imagine what a combination this is? If you are not from Vancouver area, then Van Dusen gardens are something like the mini Butchard gardens of Victoria. And Granville Island is such a unique place in Vancouver filled with markets, grunge looking warehouses, and amazing False creek views of Downtown skyline. Simply pinch me and wake me up. Great taste guys 🙂

The timing had to be really perfect for this, because it involved traveling in possible traffic, changing outfits and plus fingers crossed some cool sunset colours dusk combo… no pressure hey..?

We started at Van Dusen gardens. At this time of the year there is not so many colourfull flowers around there, but the trees, scenic corners around lakes and beautiful golden hour sun made this place to sparkle with these two in L-O-V-E in people 🙂

Being yourself is the key to beautiful portraits of any couple and once you get to know me better and you stop thinking about a camera in my hands you simply live it. And that is why I can not stop talking enough about how important is to have an engagement portraits done so you can get used to a strange such myself who likes to call himself a photographers 🙂

Without further a due here is what we had managed to photograph before mosquitos ate us alive  later on at Granville island 🙂

And hey, this sunset colours in mid summer… no kidding you had to be really good to get this kind of gift in the sky 🙂

Thank you Fahim and Aaliya for having me around to capture your moments for each other with my camera. I had a great time with you also at A+Z wedding here and later on in Mexico, what a blast we had guys…
