Science world False creek engagement
Late afternoon sun slowly changing to a dusk with dark blue sky. Does it sound like from a drama movie? The opposite is the real answer to this heading. A Science world False creek engagement idea came from my clients Alnoor and Zaheeda. They will have a multi-day Indian wedding here in Vancouver and then continue with their celebration in scenic Puerto Vallarta in Mexico this August. I was honoured to be invited to photograph their wedding celebrations and so we hit the road with what else then their engagement shoot. I simply love photography and I absolutely love to create some amazing pictures for my clients during them. At the weddings it is very similar, but there is something engagements have and weddings don’t. The luxury of time.
We have planned the shoot so we could get some cool romantic portraits during the golden hour and later on some awesome dusk-night style of scenic portraits. Guys wanted to have images which will show not just them but also the city they live in. So we started at a tiny lake with a willow tree and some nasty mosquitos 🙂 hungry after our blood.
You gotta know what you want, and once you do, you will get it. That is pretty much my motto to any session. I love to create interesting imagery, I just need clients who want them so badly they listen to suggestions and allow me to make it happen 🙂 Alnoor and Zaheeda are exactly those people. It was really easy for me to work with them. Once they got warmed up a bit we just walked through the False Creek, and wherever the light was good we paused the walk and captured the moments between them with amazing backdrops behind them.
Did I mentioned they managed two outfits to spice the session up a bit :). Again, great choice for the second part of the shoot. Watching the dusk sky turn blue with the city scape around us was priceless.
And as soon as the night sky covered us with the stars, and the lights on Science World were on we slowed down even more. The light levels get so low here we used my best three leg friend a tripod to create some night style environmental portraits. Keeping steady was the key to the success here. So the guys were left to pose themselves so they felt comfy and I always fired couple images of the same scenery just in case they moved, blinked eyes or the light on the buildings were not on the way I wanted them :). It was fun. The breeze from the ocean cooled us down after a hot day and fireworks from Canada day celebration created an audio effect for us in the air.
Vancouver is beautiful city to live in. Guys chosen a perfect evening for their engagement pictures. I am so glad for them we created some amazing images during the day and cannot wait to photograph their big day soon.
Thank you Alnoor and Zaheeda, for being great couple at the session. I have no doubt you will enjoy your wedding celebration and now once you had a chance to work with me you already know how cool your images could look.
Looking forward to see you soon.
