St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral Wedding story
The time has come and with new year I will be blogging my last year wedding stories. As a Vancouver Wedding Photographer I am always amazed with my new clients ideas and trust me the 2016 year was nothing short of spectacular. My last blog feature was published by Real Weddings magazine and guess what, this story was publish by Real Weddings at Christmas time as well. What a great way to share Christine+Dean love story. Thank you.
The story started at Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier where groom and his party were getting ready. So let me tell you this way, you want to be around Greek guys on a wedding day. Fun, laughing, genuine raw emotions from the first moment I stepped into their penthouse. Dean and his dad sharing last moments before they head out to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, grooms men having shots and loud partying on the terrace with downtown views behind instead of having breakfast. Simply living the wedding day as you would find in the best wedding chick movie from Hollywood.
Ladies were getting married at brides parents villa in West Vancouver. Giggling and sipping bubbles were mixed with emotional moments and mini-stories which make getting ready part of the wedding day so precious. Amazing wedding gown from Isabelle Bridal Christine was wearing was surrounded by so many blush bridal unique designs that these girls were turning heads of everyone around / even local RCMP horse guards at Stanley Park stopped to pose with them for me /.
The wedding ceremony took place at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. This architectural masterpiece is very hard to describe since it copula has to be seen to believe how amazing it looks. Traditional Greek wedding ceremony with crowns was a very sacred and emotional part of the whole day. Full cathedral fill with family and friends enjoyed the ceremony and welcomed the newlyweds with lots of rice confetti at the church door recession. If you never attended a greek wedding then you are missing a lot. Mediterraneans know how to throw a party for sure.
Family and portrait sessions took place at Stanley Park Rose gardens and then at Capilano Golf and Country club in West Vancouver. The venue was decorated by grooms mom Cathy who is a wedding planner and decorator in Vancouver Floral was art of Tala Florist who’s name is hard to miss if you are into flowery decorations for your wedding venues. The night was filled with great dancing, unforgettable speeches and delicious catering and if you have not seen the wedding cake from grooms aunt then let me describe it as – are you kidding me is this real thing?
The whole day was a joy to be part of. So many mini stories tangled together in an easygoing story the bride and groom will remember forever. I am lucky to have witness weddings where priceless candid moments are appreciated to be captured equally with those epic created portraits I put together for the couple at every wedding with some unique twists in them to make them simply tastefully different to my mission I had during that day.
Love loud nights without the end and this was one of those wedding days where there was no end. Yes, they get me tired yet I love them since the memories from them will last generations and my soar muscles after them feel so pumped for the next adventures coming that I am thrilled to be a wedding photographer more and more after next wedding is finished and new one is about to start.
What are you planning for yours? Why not to spoil yourselves with some of yours very own ideas and plans. You love these stories, then imagine how you would love yours ?
