SFU Diamond Alumni wedding
T+M full post from SFU Diamond Alumni wedding day. Beautiful day since the morning start and getting ready shots you can see bellow and all the way till the vodka hit the dance floor and the girls and guys could let the steam go and rock the place down. Even the rain stopped for our creative formal session at White rock pier, which was not planned but turned out to be excellent choice for the bridal party. So here is how the day for Tara and Michael started and their SFU Diamond Alumni wedding celebration.
Girls were getting ready and the bride’s parent house. Relaxed, well organized and ready to have a great time. We started with couple candid shots mixed with classic portraits and some stylized close ups and we were in the wedding adrenalin rhythm. We simply love this cool feeling when we grab the cameras and start to roll digital film 🙂 in them
Meanwhile guys were already in the church so as soon as the limo arrived to pick up girls we drove away to photograph them before the bride gets there. The church main door was the perfect backdrop with amazing light so we did all portraits of them right there.
The traditional catholic ceremony was around an hour long and thanks to the new priest who had only 2 restrictions regarding my position in the church I had plenty of options from where I could create these kind of candid shots.
Beautiful location with mixture of natural and artificial light looked nice and specially in BW it showed how amazing the contrasty light lit the place around the couple.
Did I mentioned it was raining since the morning and when we finished the mass ceremony the rain was gone. The creative formal session was planned for New Westminster which was on the way to SFU Diamond Alumni reception. The bride and groom talked to me after the ceremony how about if we did the session at close by White rock instead due to a good weather at that moment. Well, you know the saying everywhere you go always take the weather with you… We had cloudy overcast with sunny spells right there, who would run somewhere else where the rain could be still pouring ..? The White Rock pier it was then.
We had a blast at the ocean as you can tell with these guys. Awesome bridal party, and you should hear and see the limo party time on the way there and etc… 🙂
The White rock pier is always busy location so the formals took as maybe 25 minutes and we were done. Then we took the bride and groom under the pier to have some simple creative shots done there and we were back i the limo on the way to SFU for family formals.
And the sunshine came out for the rest of the day and we could chill out with bunch of amazing people around us, what a day …
Last year I photographed Michael’s brother David wedding so imagine how many people actually met us again at this Michael’s and Tara celebration. We knew the evening is going to be a great fun and grand finale of the day.
The SFU Alumni Diamond wedding venue looked amazing. There was su much work done here to decorate it in the style Tara liked we had lot’s of work to do to document all its beauty before the couple had a great entrance.
The couple started the evening with a tradition to break a plate and clean it up with a broom and then, toasts, speeches and great food took over …
The night sky covered the ocean views and only the tree line showed us a silhouette against the dusk beauty happening in the sky. With first dance and cake cutting the party was officially on. Hard to believe it has been couple weeks ago, I can still feel the emotions by looking at the created images from the day.
Thank you Tara and Michael for having us to create these unique and everlasting memories from you big day. It was a pleasure to photograph you and your loved ones.
