Swan-e-set Bay Resort Wedding
Swan-e-set Bay Resort Wedding of Reena and Scott became one of my favourite events to photograph this year. The reason was very simple. I have never photographed a wedding here. If you think just to hire a wedding photographer based only on a fact that he/she has photographed at your wedding venue before you might be fooling yourself. That does not guarantee you that your images will be wow. So a new challenge with a new beautiful venue is a dream come true obstacle to play with. Reena and Scott love my scenic, classy and fun creative imagery I produce for my clients and we hit it right on from the beginning.
After getting ready part of the day we drove to the country club. Reena in a beautiful wedding gown, with amazing bouquet – as she mentioned couple times, quite a heavy art-piece, look fabulous. Scott was enjoying his buddies and family while I was capturing venue details.
Blue sky weddings are a joy to photograph. This was one of the last ones before the Pemberton fires cover the whole Lower Mainland with a thick smoke so again these guys were lucky with planning. Short intimate ceremony took place outdoor and after we finished classic family wedding portraits we hit the road in our cars and went to look for some scenic places around the venue.
This place is loaded with cool areas where we could shoot for hours if only we had a luxury of extra time. We had fairly nice time window for this creative portraiture so coupe could enjoy and rest in shade after the hot ceremony.
Working with two Indian videographers around me is something I am used to, so we had a great time to collaborate and create and I cannot stress enough how important it is to be to fellow vendors on a big day. Wedding coordinator did an amazing work, decoration, flowers, detailing… everything was extraordinary and emphasized the mixture of East Indian and western cultures at this event. Bridal gown in a contrast with colourful saris /saree/ was a joy to photograph after the first dance was over and the party started.
But before we hit the dance floor, couple asked me to take them for a spin with some more scenic portraiture from the Golf course behind the venue. Well in this kind of beautiful golden hour as we had it was my pleasure to create more romantic portraits for them. And we could catch a fresh air after some delicious Indian butter chicken with chapati and rice.
I love the party time of the multicultural wedding events. People having blast, loud music, kids jumping you get the feeling. Well the party went on for quite a long time so before we wrapped the evening we still managed to sneak out for couple more pictures. Bride was hoing to get some dusk portraits with the Swan-e-set Bay Resort lights on, so we overcome the bites of mosquitos and it was well worth the effort.
Looks too easy does not it? Well I still managed to change two shirts through the day :). It was a great workout, and I am thrilled to photograph here again in the future.
Congratulations Reena and Scott and I wish you an amazing life together. It was my pleasure to capture amazing memories for you and your family.
