Granville Island Engagement Photographer

There is so many great places in Vancouver to visit. Granville Island is definitely one of them. To have a date night out for bride and groom to be this can be one of the goofiest places to be in this city. False creek area is simply so spectacular and specially at late evening and night time.

The idea of this shoot was very simple. We started at sunset with Black and White portraits and continued with flash based strobes effects after dusk at Science world location.

Look at the happy eyes and faces M+E were sharing among each other. The peaceful moments replaced with wild laugh and love. Being themselves was what kept them wanting more and more of these images. They enjoyed those moments together and camera became their best friend.

If you follow my stories I photographed last couple years you probably know I love to create modern and punchy looking dramatic portraits. And the best time of the day to photograph those is when it gets dark. My best friend at that time of the night becomes my flash. And what could be a better way to show you how it looks like then photograph the second part of this story in colour.

What does it take to have a unique wedding or engagement story? Your determination to have things done the way you like it. M+E did not leave anything to luck and they prepared themselves. Since they love to play instruments, they brought set of drums and guitar to their dusk lifestyle shoot part. What a freaking awesome idea. A life band engagement session at False creek for public with free admission. This was simply amazing to watch.

I knew the couple loved punchy and contrasty images form our previous meetings, so we hit the night with many flashes to create a really moody and unique portraits of them.

Wild Persian dancing was main scene that night at False creek, loud dreams were going through the air across to the BC Place, and pedestrians had amazing life show on for couple hours to enjoy.

All of this was planned by the couple not me. They really did their preparation for the shoot. Event the second red dress of the bride was carefully chosen to show it in a very contrasty way with night ambience of the downtown behind.

What can I say, pretty cool couple and great attitude to have story of their lives created very different way. I love challenges and as much as I can I try to get maximum out of them. This was a great night time in the middle of downtown spent with two amazing genuine people who spent their engagement shoot together the way they dreamed about it. Kudos to them!
