Destination wedding couple from Taiwan J+H had a dream to get married in Vancouver. They chosen a very significant time of the year for this memorable date, Easter Holiday weekend. If you think about a huge overwhelming wedding event you might sit back and read more. This was a very family oriented celebration and you could feel how intimate it was just by watching everyones faces during this day. TCC is a great wedding venue with such an amazing location in downtown Vancouver. For a wedding photographer this is a gold right there. You do not need to travel anywhere faraway for great potential photography locations. You have them right under your nose.

Terminal City Club Wedding venue offers ocean and mountains views directly from their patio. Coal Harbour and Stanley park backdrops can be quite astonishing and amazing during the sunset hour and modern downtown streets around Fairmont hotel offers fashion and glamorous feel to your backgrounds. Well, my bride and groom wanted completely unique and very much Terminal City Club Wedding experience.

We simply did not leave TCC at all and we photographed only in their venue. Most of the portraits you will see in this blog post are bold and simple and unique. Because the timeline of the day was fairly tight we knew we could only manage so much and we planned accordingly to it.

Couple before the ceremony images followed by intimate standing vows and I do followed by ring exchange and first kiss. Family portraits and candid cocktails at the venue were so easygoing everyone loved it. For more dramatic and bold images we then moved and photographed inside the bar and lobby area. To create a variety for the bride and groom we have mixed natural light and sun with studio strobes and flashes for desired effects.

What my couple loved was how we moved across the venue. I have explained them how body language works for cameras and we walked around the venue so they could simply forget about my cameras around them. You do not need to do any weird poses to look to your best in your wedding dress. A simple hand holding genuine way is more then enough for showing how you love each other.

This wedding elopement was very short to compare some of the crazy long weddings I have photographed in past. This was simply amazing experience for everyone including myself. As a Vancouver wedding photographer I was blessed to capture stories of hundreds of brides and grooms and it still feels for me like a magical moment to step to shadows of the day to create these beautiful raw memories for my couples.

Last year was extremely busy for our family life, our business and future projects in making. We have incorporated and decided to take on less wedding clients since we want to serve them with so much attention one can only do if being alive :).

Big Thank You for your trust and support since without you it would not be the same.

And last but not the least what an honour for us to be Finalist for The Best Candid moment photo contest at BC Wedding Awards night. What an achievement and satisfaction for our small circle who has finger tips in this amazing wedding photography rollercoaster.

We had no time and energy to blog last year, so thanks to our reorganization and mind setups for the future we will be back with our stories and we are looking forward to hear from you your thoughts.

Happy 2018 season to all of you.

Cheers. Jozef+Maria
